Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2026. Last reviewed: May 2026.
defamationcalc.com is committed to operating transparently with respect to data collection. This policy explains what information is collected when you use this site, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Who We Are
defamationcalc.com is operated by The Click Lab (business email: hey@theclicklab.agency). We operate a portfolio of free legal and financial reference websites monetized through Google AdSense display advertising.
Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information directly from visitors. We do not operate account registration, comment sections, email lists, or contact forms that capture personal data. The only data collection on defamationcalc.com occurs through third-party services embedded in the site:
- Google AdSense: Displays advertising on this site. Google collects usage data, device information, and IP address to serve relevant ads and to measure ad performance. AdSense may use cookies and similar tracking technologies. Google's ad serving and measurement practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregate traffic data — page views, session duration, geographic region, and device type. This data is used to understand how visitors use the site and to improve content. Google Analytics collects data using cookies and assigns a random client ID to sessions; it does not collect personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers unless those are voluntarily provided (which this site does not allow). Analytics data is aggregate and not tied to individual identities.
Calculator inputs entered by visitors (plaintiff type, defendant type, per se selection, actual malice selection, damages amount) are processed entirely in the visitor's browser using JavaScript. No calculator inputs are transmitted to our servers or to any third party. We do not see, store, or process the numbers visitors enter.
Cookies
We do not set first-party cookies. Google AdSense and Google Analytics set cookies on your device to function. AdSense cookies are used to serve targeted advertising based on your browsing activity. Analytics cookies are used to distinguish sessions and collect aggregate usage data. You can opt out of Google's personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
How We Use Data
The aggregate analytics data collected via Google Analytics is used solely to understand site traffic, identify high-performing content, and improve the editorial quality of the site. We do not sell this data, share it with third parties other than Google as described above, or use it for any purpose other than site improvement.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties. The only third parties with access to visitor data are Google (through AdSense and Analytics), subject to Google's own privacy practices and terms.
Do Not Track
We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because we do not directly control the data collection by Google AdSense or Google Analytics. Visitors who wish to limit tracking should use the opt-out mechanisms described in the Cookies section above.
Children's Privacy
defamationcalc.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us at hey@theclicklab.agency.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this privacy policy when our data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent update. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
